Where is the dachshund?!

I recently made a new bed for Rusty and to try cope with his excessive shedding and stinking up the bed so fast, I wrapped the bed with an old T-shirt and the very next day, this is what I find....

He is now sleeping in between the shirt and the bed like a sleeping bag!

Super cute...I love my dachshund.. :)

Finally a nice day out...and Rusty is doing what he always does when the sun is out...

SUN-TANNING!!! as if he's not dark brown enough...

 As I was watching him sun tan, I realized how physically awkward it is for him to lay down on his two front paws! those little paws are no where near long enough for him to rest his head on...

O my puppy..I love you still :D

This is a video of something Rusty does on a daily basis...

Since young, he's always slept on beds/couches/legs, soft surfaces basically and now he's spoiled!

I just washed the couch's cover and refuse to let him on the couch without his bed and this is what he does...

I also came across this video another day and it's a MUST SEE!!

I almost died laughing from this video..

Why is it so hard to find clothes that fit!?

Hope everybody's had a good start of 2011!!! Last week was also the Chinese New Year, hence the obvious lack of attention for this blog....

I find it the hardest thing to find a shirt/jacket that fits Rusty perfectly, if it's big enough for his big chest, it is way too long for him, if it's long enough and big enough for him, his sleeve would be dragging on the floor.... SO FAR, I have not found one piece of clothing that fit him! Is it just me? or this is everybody's pain? 

It is impossible not only to find clothes for Rusty, it's hard to find a good harness that fits him since his chest is super big, usually if the chest fits, the collar part would be too loose. It's also hard to find him shoes because his leg is just..too short!

Anybody got suggestions? any good brands that fit doxies well?

I am considering custom making his shirts from now on by myself since I have a sewing machine doing nothing at home, we'll see how that goes...

Ahh...another year has gone by...

It's been a while since an update was posted..
Mommy went back to Vancouver to visit Grandma for Xmas and I was left with an Auntie who took me to Ottawa! How cool!!
Although when I got back, I was so quiet and not myself that mommy thought I was sick or I forgot all about her, she was sad... but I was just tired from the long car ride back from Ottawa.
I hope everybody had a wonderful and safe Xmas, LOTS AND LOTS of nice presents...
and enjoy the warm weather..

Hum....tooth...?

I never knew dogs change their teeth just like we do....Rusty was changing teeth all the way up until 1 year old before he's changed everything...
Did everybody's doxies also changed their teeth?...did you guys recover any of the teeth?

The last two teeth that he lost..

The teeth from the previous picture was situated right behind his canine... vet told me when he was 6 months old that he needed surgery to take them out....guess not for my Rusty.. :D

The other side also lost that baby teeth...

Do you guys brush your doxies teeth frequently? I brush him almost everyday but there are still 'stains' at the top of his teeth, near the gums..

Is it true they need to get their teeth cleaned at the vet regularly?

I hate dentists... I know Rusty won't like it either... :(
